For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat fanatics can explore all the mythos and rumors of the Mortal Kombat universe from an entirely new perspective. Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks features an impressive line-up of Mortal Kombat characters, as well, that make frequent appearances as enemies, in boss battles and during several additional in-game interactions. Similar to "Mortal Kombat: Deception," background interactions (i.e., acid pits, living trees, spiked ceilings, etc.), multiple new fatalities, and action-based puzzles also play an important role in the player's quest for an "outstanding" victory. Summary: Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks is an Action/Adventure title driven by both intense single and multi-player action.Overall, this is a great beat them up game that stayed true to Mortal Kombat fans past and future. * Lots of backtrackin g where you play areas over and over again in order to gain access to areas restricted till future moves are learned. * Once you are playing in single mode or co-op mode, you can't change from one to the other. * Hours upon hours of fun unlocking hidden characters and features (like Mortal Kombat II) * Faithful Mortal Kombat prior exprience is NOT needed

* Seemless fighting with complex moves combined into a button push or two * Painstaking recreation of fighting areas but better, cooler and you get to use Mortal Kombat signature moves! Gone is the one on one fighting style but you are now emersed in a 3D environment similar to that of Double Dragon and Streets of Rage. This is a 3D action fighting game from Mortal Kombat. The boss fights are especially fun and not to mention the fatalities. It's not "pull your hair out" hard nor is it too easy.

I bought this mainly because it has the Mortal Kombat 2 arcade game in it as an unlockable feature which is great. You get to pick Liu Kang, Kung Lao and with special codes, you can also be either Scorpion or Sub Zero (which is a big plus) to beat the game! Reminds me of the music found in Mortal Kombat 2. The music and sound effects are typical to Mortal Kombat titles and that's a good thing, especially if your an MK fan like me. This effect seems to blur out any jagged edges, so I guess that's a good thing. Everything seems like it's glowing a bit. The graphics are decent/nice, but nothing ground breaking. It really depends on who you're playing with. For some reason, it felt a bit more tedious with 2 players. I enjoyed the game for the most part, especially in single player mode more so than the 2 player mode.
